As you probably already know, I love using essential oils for stress support. They are an easy, effective, and pleasant-smelling way to reduce stress and calm the mind. I made this video in my private Facebook group of essential oil customers and I wanted to share it with you!
I will share a diffuser blend that I love and a roller bottle blend that I will make to help melt stress away and boost the mood. Keep in mind that when it comes to stress, there's all different types of stress. And it depends on so many factors. There's mental stress, emotional stress, physical stress, environmental stress, etc. And there are so many oils that can support stress in a variety of ways.
As humans, we are all different. And we respond differently to different oils. Even in different times of stress and in different situations, we may gravitate toward one oil versus another. So what I am sharing with you today are a couple of blends that I like, and I encourage you to experiment with your oils and find ones that really resonate with you because all oils have have emotional properties to them.
Some oils are calming, some are uplifting, some are grounding, some are harmonizing, some are centering. Finding oils that resonate with you in that moment is something I encourage you to do, because that is very empowering. It's so nice to find those few oils that you can go to that you know really work for you and your body and your mind and your emotions that you can have on hand when you need them.
I'm going to be sharing some oils that I love to diffuse, and some oils that I like to use in a roller bottle that really help reduce stress, calm my mind, and uplift my mood. I think we would all agree that we could use a little bit of that, right now.
This year has been pretty wild. And we're also entering the holiday season which sometimes brings about more stress. So we need tools that we can go to that we have on hand and and that are natural and safe and effective. Essential oils are a powerful part of that. So watch this video in its entirety.
The first thing I'm going to share with you is the diffuser blend. Diffusing oils is one of the best ways to use oils for stress reduction, especially when dealing with mental and emotional stress. The blend that I like is a combination of adaptiv, frankincense, and wild orange. Adaptiv is our calming blend, so if you're not sure where to start with using oils for reducing stress, I recommend starting with adaptiv because because it is formulated specifically for stress reduction, and uplifting the mood. I do three drops of adaptiv, along with two drops of Frankincense.
Frankincense is my most favorite oil. It has some wonderful grounding properties to it, and brings you back to center. I do two drops of frankincense and then two drops of wild orange. Wild orange is very uplifting it promotes happiness and positivity.
Stress Away Diffuser Recipe
3 drops doTERRA Adaptiv
2 drops Frankincense
2 drops Wild Orange
Breathe it in. Close your eyes and enjoy the experience.
Now for the roller blend, I'm going to use a few different oils here. I am going to use four oils for this roller bottle blend in a 10ml roller bottle. We are going to do 10 drops of Frankincense. It's my go to for just about anything and everything. 10 drops of lavender.
Lavender helps stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system. This is important because when we're feeling stressed, and overwhelmed then oftentimes we are living in fight or flight, our sympathetic nervous system is activated and likely on overdrive and we're living in survival mode. We need to calm that down. We really want to calm the nervous system and stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system which is your rest, relax and digest. Most of us are not living in that state as often as we need to be. So lavender helps with that. We're going to do 10 drops of lavender.
We're also going to use a little bit of ylang ylang. Ylang Ylang is a beautiful floral oil that has great calming properties, and I love the way it smells. And, finally bergamot. We're going to do five drops of bergamot as it is actually well studied for its ability to reduce stress, it's great for just reducing that mental stress and uplifting the mood.
Stress Away Roller Bottle Recipe
10 drops Frankincense
10 drop Lavender
5 drops Ylang Ylang
5 drops Bergamot
You just take your glass roller bottle and drop the oils in. So you'll do 10 drops of frankincense. And if you get a little more or less, that's fine, too. It doesn't have to be perfect. And then we're going to do 10 drops of lavender. And five drops of ylang ylang. Then five drops of bergamot. Now we're going fill the rest with our fractionated coconut oil. And then roll it on. Your wrists and the pulse points are great. Rolling on your wrist, the back of your neck, behind the ears, on the chest, any of those places are great. And then you can just breathe it in and you've got your anti-stress roller with you for those times where you don't have a diffuser and you want to get that aromatic benefit when you're out and about. The rollers are great to carry in your purse and travel with and have on hand when you need them. I encourage you to give this a try. If you don't have all these oils, use the oils that you have. Smell the oils and bring awareness to how they make you feel and use the oils that really seem to calm you down or make you happy and put a smile on your face. Those are the oils to really pay attention to when we're talking about oils for stress reduction.
Using the oils is great, but I also encourage you to implement other practices along with the oils. In terms of reducing stress, I love breathwork. Meditation, prayer journaling, walks in nature, Epsom salt baths - all of these are wonderful practices for reducing stress in your daily life. And to make it even better, use the oils with these practices. Diffuse oils. Add essential oils to your Epsom salt bath. All of these are great practices to start to implement to calm your stress, calm your nervous system and boost your mood.
